When is the rainy season in Oahu?

Oahu’s rainy season runs from November through March, with December and January bringing the most rainfall.

But here’s what surprises people: Oahu doesn’t have a true “rainy season” the way tropical destinations do. Trade winds keep things breezy year-round, and even in winter the south shore stays mostly dry.

The bulk of the rain hits the windward side and mountain slopes. Waikiki and Honolulu see maybe an inch or two more rain in winter than summer, rarely enough to change your plans. Summer is bone dry on leeward shores.

The best approach? Don’t stress about rainy season. Oahu’s weather is famously local. One valley can be drenched while the beach a mile away is sunny.
